How It Works: Generating Additional Questions in OpenClass

With just a few clicks, instructors can generate new questions based on specific learning objectives, question types, and custom prompts. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how it works:

1. Click the Generate Button in the Assignment Builder

Inside the assignment builder, you’ll now see a Generate Questions button conveniently located in the bottom right corner of the page.

2. Select a Learning Objective

Once you click the button, a Generate Questions modal will appear. The first step is selecting the specific learning objective you want to generate questions for.

3. Choose the Question Type(s)

Next, you can select the type(s) of questions you’d like to generate.

4. Select the Number of Questions

Decide how many questions you want to generate—simply choose a number between 1 and 10 from the selector.

5. Customize with a Prompt (Optional)

For even more control, instructors can provide an optional prompt to fine-tune the generated questions. This can include details such as:

✔️ Specific topics covered in class

✔️ Areas that haven’t been covered yet

✔️ Preferred difficulty level

✔️ Question themes

6. Click Generate and Instantly Get New Questions

Once everything is set, click Generate, and OpenClass will create high-quality questions aligned with your learning objective.
